Under the title My Final Bouquet…, I create short audiovisual stories intended for use in farewell services for cherished family and loved ones. These visual stories are brought to life by softly blending my nature photography and pairing them with exquisite classical and contemporary music from composers and musicians such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Arvo Pärt, Antonio Vivaldi, Ludovico Einaudi, and Frédéric Chopin.
My final Bouquet… (Mijn laatste Boeket…) (4:37) Ave Maria (Caccini) – Michelle Todd
Seventeen ‘blooms’ from this bouquet are now in full flower: swaying wood anemones, emerging spring blossoms, colourful butterflies, swans in their majestic flight, and a sun-drenched field of poppies.
My Final Bouquet… addresses the transience and fragility of life, tells a story of vitality and beauty, of letting go and surrender to the light.
Swaying in the Breeze (Wiegend in de wind) (4:21) Frédéric Chopin – Nocture in E flat minor, op. 9 no. 2
The Farewell Flowers range from the recognizable and concrete (A Field of Poppies) to the artistic (Swans’ Ballet) and the spatially abstract (In Flight).
They offer moments of profound emotion and solace, of contemplation and meditation. In this way, My Final Bouquet… can contribute to a loving farewell for a cherished loved one.
Swans’ Ballet (Zwanenballet) (3:42) Camille Saint-Saëns – Le Carnaval des animaux – Le Cygne
